Platao, Macau

One hour away from Hong Kong is the nice city of Macau which has basically two things to offer : casinos and bacalhau. The former Portuguese colony has a pleasant city centre and after seeing Ruinas de Sao Paola we stopped to have lunch on the terrace at Platao.

To start, we shared some very decent tomato and goat cheese bruschetta (anyway you would need to be a donkey to make very bad bruschetta).

Then, I had the house special: baked bacalhau and mixed seafood. It tasted exactly as expected, and for once the bacalhau was not too salted. My friend's dish looked like a giant omelet, with bacalhau and at least six eggs.

The terrace was pleasant and food ok, but with European prices I am not sure Platao is good value for money. Next time I am in Macau I will rather have some of these candy-like beef offal kebabs:
